Operational Project Support Lead – 35 hours per week, Liverpool (Temp, 12 months, Driver)

About the Role
Expand capacity within the LD Division to ensure effective delivery of DSR and other strategic projects. Coordinate and complete administrative, logistical and operational activities, track progress, manage documentation, support communication between stakeholders and facilitate the execution of project plans.
Dimensions
While the role includes leadership and coordination duties, full accountability for project delivery is not required.
Principal Accountabilities
* Team coordination: Facilitate collaboration, clarify roles and remove obstacles.
* Milestone tracking: Monitor deliverables, timelines, budgets and report on progress to Area Managers and the Head of Operations.
* Stakeholder communication: Serve as the point of contact for updates, risks and issues, ensuring consistent communication across the team.
* Documentation & reporting: Maintain accurate project records, prepare reports and support compliance with organisational standards.
* Continuity and progress: Proactively fill gaps to ensure timely and effective delivery of operational objectives.
Responsibilities Common to All Leads
* Protect and safeguard vulnerable individuals at risk, following local Adult and Child protection procedures.
* Demonstrate sound judgment and situational awareness in decision making.
* Promote initiatives that support the organisation’s social and environmental responsibilities.
* Support technology‑based initiatives and projects.
* Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and external partners.
* Contribute to the development of quality services and uphold AFG values, mission and vision.
* Adhere to AFG policies, procedures and legal requirements.
* Encourage continuous professional development and operate within the AFG performance‑management framework.
* Work flexibly to meet organisational needs and travel within the operational area.
* Hold team meetings, circulate corporate messages, recognise staff achievements and comply with recruitment, selection and code‑of‑conduct policies.
* Act with integrity and transparency at all times.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in adult social care, especially supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or acquired brain injury.
* Experience in creative, innovative environments and using data to inform practice.
* Experience of partnership working and managing resources within an agreed budget.
* Proficiency in IT systems for service and people management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of the needs of people with mental health or learning disabilities, and awareness of current best practice.
* Ability to apply policy and procedure to achieve quality outcomes.
* Initiative, self‑motivation, resourcefulness and effective resource management.
* Proficiency in ICT for information, performance reporting and communication.
* Knowledge of equality and anti‑discriminatory practices and safeguarding procedures.
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills, capable of managing competing priorities at pace.
* Strong leadership and team collaboration skills, with the ability to motivate and empower others.
* NVQ3 qualification in management or care (or equivalent) or willingness to complete one within a set period.
* Training in person‑centred practices (planning, review, team development).
Driver Requirement
Role requires a valid driver’s licence and vehicle for work‑purpose travel within our geographical areas of operation.
Band and Working Pattern
Band II (see AFG structure). 35‑hour working week with options for 9‑day fortnight or 4.5‑day week.
