Job Description Salary: £34,434 - £36,363 per annum Hours per week: 37 hours Fixed term: Until the end of March 2028 Interview date: To be confirmed following shortlisting We are seeking a motivated and experienced Domestic Abuse Early Help Advisor to join our Integrated Front Door (IFD), with a strong commitment to safeguarding children and supporting families affected by domestic abuse, and experience in ESA planning and completing DARA/DASH. Wiltshire Council offers a supportive environment with a strong focus on work-life balance. Following our 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating in September 2023, the IFD received particularly positive feedback for its impact and effectiveness. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, the service provides a single point of access for all contacts and referrals, ensuring alignment with statutory and local safeguarding guidance for children and young people. As part of this role, you will contribute to strengthening the IFD response to domestic abuse. You will undertake triage activity, make informed threshold decisions, and support MARAC processes. Working with survivors, perpetrators, and children, you will assess risk, keep the child's lived experience central, and apply a strong understanding of victim-perpetrator dynamics, including experience in ESA planning and completing DARA/DASH. You will need to work confidently on your own initiative within a fast-paced environment, managing contacts proportionately and progressing work effectively. A sound knowledge of domestic abuse interventions is required, including statutory and police powers such as Domestic Violence Protection Orders (DVPOs), alongside voluntary and supportive pathways. You will direct individuals and families to appropriate services, develop practical safety plans, and play an active role in multi-agency working. Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing skills are essential. Join us and play a vital role in delivering a coordinated, high-quality response that helps keep children and families safe. Why us? Wiltshire Council is a friendly, welcoming place to work, with a 'One Council' ethos. Find out more about Our Identity, staff networks, and employee benefits here.
