We currently have a Peripatetic Mental Health Practitioner vacancy for an exciting one-year LA-funded project delivering Journey of Hope (JoH) across multiple schools in Wandsworth.
To apply, you must be willing to undertake training in delivering JoH and quality reviewing JoH interventions.
This one-year project will deliver:
1. JoH groupwork including assessment and formulation for all children in each group.
2. Six groups per week: one each morning and afternoon, Monday to Friday (term time). Sessions last 1 hour, with the remaining time allocated for admin.
3. Delivery method: Face-to-face.
Role Overview
As a Mental Health Practitioner/Counsellor, your role will focus on providing JoH group work to primary and secondary-aged children and young people on a peripatetic basis across schools in Balham and Tooting, and Putney and Roehampton.
You will conduct full assessment and formulation processes for children and young people referred to the JoH service. This includes working with school links to shape universal and targeted interventions supporting groups within schools, in line with the Clinical Delivery Model.
You will plan and deliver group work in consultation with schools and your line manager or clinical supervisor, discussing potential referrals with school staff and keeping supervisors informed.
You will ensure all clinical work is reviewed and outcomes evaluated in supervision to improve practice, fostering positive relationships with school and Place2Be management, and participating in staff meetings to share best practices and develop clinical skills.
