The Role
1. To be observant in helping to reduce/ prevent crime on the UHM Site
2. To assist in providing a safe and secure environment for Patients, Staff, Visitors
3. To undertake regular patrol of the internal and external site of the UHM sites.
4. To provide help and advice to Patients, Visitors and Staff
To be an advocate for NHSL whilst undertaking their role.

What we'll need you to bring
5. Level of H&S Knowledge in line with NHSL and departmental policies and (SOP’s)
6. Communication skills that are supportive, empathetic, compassionate and have the ability to de-escalate difficult conversations
7. Knowledge of site lay out
8. Basic knowledge of CCTV
9. Requires a professional and sympathetic approach to people
10. To be physically fit and be able to understand and react correctly and quickly to incidents remaining competent under pressure.
11. Use of communication equipment
12. Use of monitoring systems
13. Completion of mandatory training as specified within core competencies
14. Must be capable of writing accurate reports
15. Violence and aggression Training – Level 1 &2
16. Enhanced Disclosure Scotland clearance
17. To be competent in the use of all department equipment/ personal protective equipment
18. Whilst it would be an advantage for new members to have had previous experience in the security industry, it is not essential.
19. All staff will be required to undertake on the job training.
20. All staff must successfully complete the training.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Security within University Hospital Wishaw.
