Are you a Graduate Geologist with a strong interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist Engineering Geology consultancy in Manchester, working on technically challenging projects across the built environment and infrastructure sectors.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop within a highly technical, geology-led consultancy, gaining hands-on experience in both geo-environmental and geotechnical disciplines.
The Role
As a Graduate Geologist, you'll play a key role in delivering ground investigation and engineering geology projects, including:
Supporting and producing Phase 1 Desk Studies
Assisting with the design and supervision of Phase 2 Ground Investigations
Soil and rock logging to current standards (BS5930 / Eurocode 7)
On-site supervision of drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing
Contributing to a range of technical reports including factual and interpretative reports, contaminated land risk assessments, and remediation strategies
Supporting project delivery and client interactionYou'll be given early responsibility and the chance to get stuck into complex projects, while working within a supportive and experienced team.
About You
To be considered for this Graduate Geologist (Engineering Geology) role, you should have:
A degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related Geoscience discipline
A genuine interest in Engineering Geology, ground investigation, and contaminated land
Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills
The ability to work both independently and within a team
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
The right to work in the UKPrevious site or consultancy experience (placements or internships) would be beneficial but is not essential.
