Derby
Our Derby-based client is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems, offering a range of high-quality services including Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy, and Software Development to blue-chip clients worldwide. Due to continued success and a strategic growth plan, they are now seeking to recruit several Engineering Support Technician professionals to join their established team of electrical and controls engineers.
It is envisaged that successful candidates will be qualified to NVQ, C&G, HNC, or above in a relevant electrical, electronic, or controls-related discipline. Applications will only be considered from candidates based in or able to relocate quickly to the East Midlands, who are eligible to work in the UK, hold a full UK driving license, and can attain security clearance for UK airport work. Candidates must be willing to travel across the UK and work nights regularly.
There are exciting opportunities for enthusiastic, ambitious, and competent Engineering Support Technicians to join the System Support Department. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, design and modification of SCADA, PLC, and related subsystems, and providing 24-hour emergency call-out coverage nationwide.
Full training will be provided to practical candidates with some engineering or technological interest and experience. The role involves diagnosing and solving problems while delivering excellent customer service. Candidates should be willing to travel, work nights (at premium rates), and possess a full UK driving license and valid passport, with no criminal convictions required for security clearance purposes.
During training, you will learn to work as part of a team to design, implement, and test control and integrated systems, program PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function Block, or Statement List, configure SCADA software, and use programming languages such as C, C++, VB, and VBA. You will also undertake IP network design and configuration and the design and testing of ELV electrical panels.
Our client is a progressive, dynamic organization that values client relationships and recruits high-caliber, ambitious individuals with drive and enthusiasm. They foster a friendly and supportive environment where commitment, flexibility, integrity, and a sense of humor are highly valued.
