Cloud Solutions Architect - SME | Req#3887
ActioNet is actively looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of the development of a new enterprise vetting system based on a scalable, microservices-based platform hosted in an AWS Cloud environment. The Architect will provide both strategic and hands-on technical leadership, ensuring the system meets rigorous security, performance, and compliance standards.
Location: On Site - Winchester, VA (Hybrid – Regular travel to Washington, DC required)
Clearance: Top Secret
Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure microservices within an AWS Cloud environment.
* Develop cloud-native architectures that ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
* Oversee and guide containerization strategies using Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring efficient orchestration and resource management.
* Collaborate with Government stakeholders to maintain and evolve the Pinnacle Technical Roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
* Drive DevSecOps practices, integrating security into every phase of the development and deployment lifecycle.
* Manage and optimize cloud networking, storage, and compute resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness and scalability.
* Coordinate disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies within cloud architectures.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams, security controls, and standard operating procedures.
* Lead technical meetings, sprint planning, and backlog grooming in alignment with Agile methodologies.
* Mentor and train development teams on cloud best practices, secure coding, and emerging technologies.
* Continuously assess and implement improvements to cloud environments, leveraging automation and Infrastructure-as-Code ( IaC ) tools where possible.
* Facilitate security reviews, audits, and compliance checks, ensuring alignment with FBI security policies and federal standards.
* Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis of issues, and implement proactive optimizations.
Requirements
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience is recommended for this role.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. (Preferred)
* Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); AWS Certified Security – Specialty; Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA); Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) – (Preferred)
* Extensive experience in cloud architecture and scalable microservices development, particularly in AWS.
* Expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and secure cloud development practices.
* Proficiency in C#, Java, and Python.
* Experience with cloud security compliance, including certification and accreditation (C&A) processes.
* Ability to provide technical presentations to senior Government leadership.
* Strong leadership in Agile environments, with the ability to guide and mentor development teams.
