Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and proactive Support Worker to work with a young woman with Autism, a Learning Disability, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, and Paranoia. She lives at home with her sister and parents and enjoys going out into the city, walking around, exploring new places, and engaging in friendly conversation.
This role is ideal for a female driver (Asian background - preferred) who enjoys community-based support, has strong communication skills, and can build positive rapport with a gentle and understanding approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide emotional and practical support both at home and during community outings.
* Engage the client in enjoyable activities such as walking, city visits, and stimulating conversations.
* Offer reassurance and space during periods of anxiety or distress.
* Understand and manage behaviours linked to anxiety (e.g., loud speech, repetition, restlessness).
* Encourage independence while ensuring safety and comfort.
* Promote a calm, patient, and respectful environment.
* Support the individual in line with her preferences, routine, and communication style.
* Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times.
About the Client
* A friendly, sociable lady who enjoys going out, chatting, and being active.
* Experiences anxiety episodes where she may repeat herself, raise her voice, or appear unsettled.
* She calms down naturally once allowed to express herself without interruption.
* No risk to staff during these episodes.
* Prefers support from someone close to her age range (30–35), with excellent communication skills.
Requirements
* Fluent English; Urdu-speaking ability is an additional benefit.
* Age preference: 30–35 (to match client compatibility).
* Must have access to a reliable car and be comfortable driving.
* Experience with Autism, Anxiety, or Learning Disabilities is desirable but not essential—training can be provided.
* Patience, emotional resilience, and strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and supportive during periods of heightened anxiety.

Pay: £12.60 per hour
