Overview
To undertake the planned maintenance and repair of the electrical equipment of buildings as required under contract. This role covers Network Rail sites across the Central Belt. An electric van is provided with the role. Required to be part of the on-call rota.
Responsibilities
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports.
* Carry out Reactive and emergency tasks and complete the associated paperwork.
* Undertake reactive tasks within SLAs.
* Identify and action faults/remedial works in conjunction with the Helpdesk.
* Produce permit to work/risk assessments as required.
* Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks.
* Assist other team members when required or as directed by Supervisors/Managers.
* Ensure that all tasks are completed within contractual timescales.
* Work with visiting subcontractors regarding standard of work and Health and Safety.
* Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.
* All duties carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, including purchase card receipts, timesheets and mileage returns.
* Foster and maintain excellent customer relations with on-site clients at all times.
* Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner and comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Attend and participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
* Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
* Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
Person Specification
* Qualified to City & Guilds Level or equivalent in relevant disciplines to the role.
* 18th Edition Qualification.
* Commercial Electrical Experience – working in commercial environments.
* Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment, including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable).
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
* Strong customer care focus and good communication skills.
* Proactive and able to anticipate and diagnose and repair faults.
* Capable of completing essential paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
