Job Details: Placement duration: September 2024 - August 2025 (can be flexible dependent on term time and exams) Job Role: Commercial Contracts Year-in-industry Cubic are looking for ambitious university students, seeking a year in industry within our high performing Contracts Team. You will have a dedicated buddy and will report in to a Senior Contracts Manager. You will advise the company on commercial and contractual related issues, in turn you will gain a broad overview of contracts and the Cubic business. The Contracts area is responsible for overseeing the preparation, negotiation, acceptance, and management of contracts and subcontracts. As a part of this role, some of the specific tasks you may do are: Review contract schedules and advise of financial and contractual liabilities. Support in the preparation of contract disputes and negotiations. Providing resource for the Contract Managers and Sub-Contracts Managers in terms of research, due diligence and drafting formal correspondence (Quotations, Purchase Orders, Contract Amendments etc) Support the UK Contract and Sub-Contracts Managers in the maintenance of non-billing deliverables and the associated due dates; including adjustment of dates in SAP as appropriate and liaising with Cubic Corporation for designating deliverables as completed. Managing and maintaining all SAP tasks in relation to RCC and Enterprise contract and sub-contract administration (all variations/contracts, all intercompany purchase orders received, and sub-contractor purchase orders to be issued). Working with key stakeholders; primarily Programme Managers and the Finance Department to ensure all necessary master data is captured and set up in SAP. Responsible for maintaining Contracts and Sub-Contracts documentation on the SAP UK Share Point site. Support the RCC, Enterprise and Surface Transport Contract and Sub-Contracts Managers in the administration of variations on a day to day basis including maintaining the Variations Database and Submission Plan (Share Point) for weekly distribution to Project Managers; ensuring confidentiality at all times Working with Business Development to ensure Salesforce IDs are kept up to date at all times. To maintain the RCC Variations Mapping Register and updates to any equivalent Enterprise and Surface Transport Contracts Database Minimum Job Requirements: Enrolled in a Bachelors in Law, Business Studies, or related degree that offers a placement year opportunity; Broad interest in legal and contracts as a potential career path. GCSE grade C or above including Maths and English or equivalent education/experience. General MS Office skills. High level of interpersonal, confidentiality and communication skills Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and priortise workload in a busy environment.
