Trainee Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)
We are seeking to recruit trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) for Wave 12 Hounslow Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The post is permanent conditional on successful completion of training in a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties. As this is a postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work) and must be willing to travel into London to attend lectures.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in service for Hounslow MHST. They will be taught to deliver evidence-based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development. Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2025 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date. Shortlisted candidates will also need to submit an application form to KCL for a place on the Diploma in Educational Mental Health Practice.
