HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
To oversee end to end transactional finance operations and to make improvements to procedures and controls as well as to support the business on ad-hoc projects and requests.
The Head of Finance will report directly to the Group Financial Controller and will have line management responsibility for four direct reports.
This includes overseeing the teams within the Finance Department: Accounts, Revenue Assurance and Credit Control.
Varied Day To Day Responsibilities
Financial Management
Oversee finance department employees, including accounts, revenue assurance and credit control.
Oversee day-to-day financial operations including cash flow management and financial controls.
Monitor financial performance, analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
Provide support on budgeting and forecasting.
Lead initiative to drive productivity improvements across finance operations, identifying and implementing process engagements that deliver measurable efficiency gains,
Champion the development of best-in-class processing approaches, including the integration of
AI technologies and advanced financial systems to optimise workflows and accuracy.
Reporting and Compliance
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes for the group, including financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting.
Support the Group Financial Controller and Group Accountant in maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory and tax requirements.
Support the Group Financial Controller and Group Accountant in providing required information to the external auditors.
Team Leadership
Lead, develop and mentor a high performing finance team to achieve departmental and organisational objectives.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Risk Management and financial control
Identify, assess and mitigate financial risk to the company
Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices and effectively manage and improve processes with Finance
Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
Business Partnering
Work cross-departmentally to support business initiatives and projects
Provide financial insight and analysis to aid strategic decision making.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE?
Skills And Experience
Proven experience in a senior finance management role, with a track record of delivering productivity improvements and implementing process automation.
Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles and best practices in operational efficiency.
Demonstrated expertise in selecting and deploying AI solutions and advanced financial systems to support business objectives.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Advanced IT skills, including proficiency with financial software, Microsoft Office applications,and emerging technologies.
