Description SKILL/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS Strong financial modelling and valuation skills (DCF, IRR, NPV, LBO, etc.) Analytical rigour with ability to synthesize large volumes of data High proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (Bloomberg, CapitalIQ) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Self-starter attitude with strong accountability and delivery orientation Exposure to cross-border financial and legal frameworks (a plus) FUNCTIONS KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Portfolio & Investment Support Track operating and financial performance of allocated Essar Capital portfolio companies Support in preparation of investment notes, internal memos, and capital deployment reports Liaise with company CFOs and BU teams for forecast tracking and variance analysis Financial Modelling & Analysis Build and maintain complex financial models for M&A, refinancing, restructuring, and investment cases Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity checks, and risk assessments for group-level decisions Strategic Review & Board Material Preparation Prepare high-quality investor and board presentations for ongoing portfolio oversight Draft internal briefing notes for Director & MD-level reviews Reporting & Process Hygiene Ensure timeliness and accuracy in MIS, tracker updates, and internal control documentation Drive adherence to Essar Capital’s financial governance and review cadence Research & Market Intelligence Conduct sectoral benchmarking, peer reviews, and market intelligence for inorganic and organic portfolio strategies Key Performance Indicators Timeliness & Accuracy Ensure 100% on-time delivery of investment memos, models, board presentations, and forecast updates with Analytical Depth Deliver monthly performance tracking reports for assigned portfolio companies with actionable insights on variances, trends, and risks; at least 1 initiative/quarter flagged for improvement or intervention. Stakeholder Responsiveness & Coordination Maintain Modelling & Valuation Quality Build and maintain high-complexity models that meet advanced structuring, scenario analysis, and valuation standards, receiving “exceeds expectation” feedback in 2/3 reviews annually. Governance & Process Adherance Ensure 100% compliance with documentation standards, financial control protocols, and Essar Capital’s internal governance framework for investment decisions and reporting.
