The role of a Driver for Heron Foods is divided into 2 areas; professional standards of driving along with the loading and unloading of deliveries meaning it’s more physical than most Driver jobs. Applicants must hold a current Class 1 C+E driving license and have a minimum of 6 months of Class 1 driving experience. This position operates on a '5 on 3 off' shift pattern which includes regular weekend work, shift starts at 4am.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the HGV Class 1 Driver include
15. Making multi drop deliveries and assisting in the unloading of products and cages into stores
16. Collecting stock and delivering to site
17. Collection of empty pallets, steel and cardboard from stores and returning to the distribution centre
18. Completion of daily vehicle checks and maintaining working order of company vehicles and any equipment on-board
19. Reporting of any vehicle damage or faults
Successful HGV Class 1 Drivers will have the following
20. Full and current Class 1 C+E driving license
21. Must hold a DIGI tacho card
22. Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations
23. Able to communicate and clearly follow written and verbal instructions, able to lift and manoeuvre medium to heavy loads
