Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Supply Chain – UK, based in our Kendal office. The Head of Supply Chain will oversee the organization’s overall supply chain strategy, including tactical buying, logistics, warehousing, and operations, to maximize efficiency and productivity.


What a typical day looks like:

* Ensure supply chain structure is adequate and robust to service the needs of the business and customers in all operational situations
* Drive and control the overall supply chain process with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement, monitoring activity with KPIs
* Ensure accurate statistical and collaborative forecasting to optimize reliability
* Lead the procurement process for logistics needs, infrastructure, equipment, and services in coordination with purchasing procedures
* Manage data analysis to reduce cycle times and improve value chain efficiency
* Update supply chain practices in line with environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws
* Optimize transportation routes by consolidating shipments and warehousing
* Diagram supply chain models to facilitate customer discussions
* Develop material cost forecasts or standard cost lists
* Assess material handling equipment needs and staffing levels
* Evaluate vendor manufacturing capabilities through site visits and measurements
* Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and freight forwarders
* Monitor supplier performance for quality and delivery
* Review forecasts and quotas to identify changes affecting supply chain activities
* Manage integration of new projects into supply planning, aligning production, resources, inventory, and financial variables
* Lead reviews of production volumes and assumptions, and supply/demand balances
* Participate in monthly S&OP meetings and lead supply meetings for manufacturing sites or product families
* Track and communicate business performance against KPIs for production, customer service, and inventory management
* Ensure procedures and processes are fit for purpose and aligned with best practices
* Lead and develop the local supply chain team
* Collaborate with global supply chain functions and other sites


The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

* Degree in business or engineering with 8+ years of related experience in project management and supply chain operations
* Proven success in continuous improvement and operational efficiency in a manufacturing or supply chain environment over £150m
* International and domestic experience in demanding roles
* Strong relationship-building skills at senior levels
* Track record of operational performance improvement and leading change programs
* Excellent team coordination, decision-making, communication, and negotiation skills
* Engineering background preferred, with ability to handle strategic and operational details
* Experience managing demanding customers and multisite engineering and operations
