About the role
As Year 6 Teacher you will plan ambitious lessons that balance curriculum coverage with exam technique and independent learning. The Year 6 Teacher will analyse assessment data to identify priorities, run targeted small-group support and liaise with parents and receiving secondary schools. Working in Slough, the Year 6 Teacher will also support moderation, reporting and whole-school improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Year 6 lessons that develop fluency, reasoning and independent application.
* Design and run booster and revision sessions to close gaps and consolidate learning.
* Use assessment effectively to inform planning and to track cohort and individual progress.
* Coordinate transition arrangements and prepare detailed handover documentation for secondary partners.
* Contribute to moderation, reporting and phase leadership work across Slough.
Person specification
* Qualified teacher with strong upper-KS2 experience and a proven track record in Year 6 outcomes.
* Calm under pressure, organised and confident in planning targeted programmes that raise attainment.
* Strong communicator with the ability to engage parents and colleagues in Slough.
* Able to commence January 2026 and to attend handover sessions before January 2026.
