We have an excellent opportunity for a HR Communications Director to join our HR Team. This is a permanent role and can be based in London or Glasgow.
About the Role
* Overall management and oversight of HR communications strategy, including narrative, channel strategy, and audience segmentation for communications to and from HR colleagues across Barclays.
* The role holder will collaborate closely with senior HR leaders and Group corporate communications.
* The HR communications strategy should be employee-focused, prioritising employee needs over traditional information methods. This involves seeking input on preferred communication styles, using engaging formats like interactive platforms and multimedia, and tailoring strategies to resonate with diverse audiences.
* By adopting this personalised approach, we aim to enhance engagement, foster ownership, and drive the success of our HR strategy.
Purpose of the Role
To build strong partnerships with senior leadership, advising on employee engagement and influence to achieve business goals through an insight-driven employee communications strategy and excellent execution.
Accountabilities
* Leading communication efforts using detailed insight research to help senior leaders understand employee sentiment and communicate empathetically.
* Aligning business strategy, building belief in the organisation's strategy and progress, with a focus on employee impact on client experience.
* Communicating culture and employee propositions, designing interventions that influence behaviour and demonstrate why the organisation is a great place to work.
* Creating communication interventions that support organisational change and build employee commitment and capability.
* Managing crisis and issues in collaboration with the senior team, focusing on employee roles in client engagement.
* Leading and developing a high-performing team, enhancing individual and team skills.
Director Expectations
* Managing a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives, policies, and complex projects.
* Leading a large team or cross-functional projects, coaching less experienced staff, and providing strategic insights affecting profits and risks.
* Advising senior management and influencing decisions beyond their immediate function.
* Overseeing resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for significant sub-functions.
* Ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and engaging with external regulators and advocacy groups.

* Acting as a key contact and spokesperson for the function and division.
