A vacancy has arisen within our Earth Moving Sales department for an Area Sales Manager – Scotland. The role covers postcode areas DG, EH, FK, G, KA, ML, PA, TD, and contributes to the success of Liebherr‑Great Britain Ltd Earth Moving Technical division through the delivery of highly developed sales skills, with a focus on targets, people, and outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
* Contributing to the sales growth of the division by generating sales leads through effective networking, referrals, and prospecting.
* Identifying, penetrating, and closing business opportunities, including additional sales in parts and rentals.
* Preparing and following up with quotations, ensuring timely payments from clients.
* Negotiating within a defined framework to achieve sale outcomes.
* Monitoring orders closely and escalating lost‑order issues to minimise financial loss.
* Consistently achieving sales and profitability targets.
* Maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers to ensure correct specifications for orders are delivered.
* Collaborating with the Sales office organization and other departments to maximise productivity and reduce costs.
* Communicating effectively with After Sales to ensure a smooth handover of products to customers.
* Supporting the development of Sales Trainees and providing opportunities to enhance their skills and experience.
* Actively developing a network of new customer relationships while maintaining and developing relationships with existing clients, including regular communication to assess new requirements.
* Maintaining an accurate customer database and sharing this information with appropriate business areas.
* Taking ownership of customer complaints, remaining the point of contact and resolving them to a satisfactory conclusion.
* Identifying opportunities to supervise product demonstrations at selected customer sites to facilitate the closing of new business deals.
* Taking initiative to participate in product and industry exhibitions to add value.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry.
* Strong IT skills, including CRM platforms and Microsoft Office (or equivalent).
* Flexible approach to work.
* Demonstrable skills in negotiation and selling.
* Outstanding communication skills, demonstrated effectively in a team environment.
