We are currently seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to join our dedicated and hardworking team at our Finance office in Montrose. Reporting to the Finance Director / Head of FP&A and overseeing the Finance Assistant, this role is key to supporting our continued success.

Role and Responsibilities
TREASURY
* Update the finance system daily with banking transactions, running month end bank reconciliation & investigate of any unclear bank transactions.
* Processing any ad hoc payments as they arise.
* Processing the weekly bacs run and making sure upload to the bank meets deadline for approval.
* Monthly Petty cash
PAYROLL
* Process monthly payroll ensuring all data is accurate and all deductions are taken.
* Managing company pension schemes.
* Upload the payroll to the bank in time for approval.
* Meeting HMRC deadlines, including annual P11ds.
* Statistical returns
FIXED ASSETS
* Update monthly fixed asset register with new assets along with running monthly depreciation.
MONTH END
* Process month end journals such as prepayments, accruals, stock, depreciation along with the month end reconciliations for sales ledger & purchase ledger.
* Ensuring all key balance sheet control accounts are reconciled
* Prepare and submit the monthly VAT return
* Prepare and send on the monthly French VAT return
* Assist the Management account with any other month end processes.
* General accounts administration as required, taking ownership of all transactional finance to ensure tasks are completed timeously and accurately.
COVER
* Assist in the provision of cover for the Finance assistant during periods of leave.
* Assist in the provision of cover for the Sales team with allocation of income received including matching receipts to invoices.
SYSTEMS AND PROCESS DEVELOPMENT
* Continuously improving working processes and procedures within the accounts department.
* Assist Director of Finance as required ongoing review and improvement of processes and system enhancements.
