Part time vacancy – 18.5 hours per week

If so, Thames Valley Police are looking to recruit you to join as a Police Contact Enquiry Officer.
Responsibilities
* You will be the first point of contact for all members of the public visiting the police station.
* You will deal with victims and offenders, managing their expectations.
* Offer support and reassurance to vulnerable people and reason with and calm emotional, angry and aggressive visitors.
* You will check and record details in police IT systems.
* You will also deal with internal customers and will provide a high-quality customer service to all, in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures.
* There will be general administration and the responsibility for dealing with the receipt and return of property.
Qualifications & Skills
* Assertive and able to remain calm and think logically in challenging situations.
* Sensitive and understanding to the needs of an emotional victim with an appreciation of confidentiality and diversity.
* Problem solving and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
* Ability to undertake Physical Personal Safety Training.

Please note for this role there is a requirement to attend a 2‑week full‑time training course based at Kidlington or in Hampshire. In the event of it being in Hampshire, hotel accommodation will be provided.
