Job Title: Assistant Head of Pentathlon
Reports to: Head of Pentathlon
Position Summary
Do you have a passion for pentathlon and a talent for coaching? We're looking for an Assistant Head of Pentathlon to help deliver our comprehensive pentathlon, triathlon, and swimming programs. In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Pentathlon to coach, coordinate, and develop our athletes, contributing to the continued success of the school's sports program and the Leweston Pentathlon Academy.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Athlete Development:
* Deliver engaging coaching sessions across all pentathlon disciplines
* Coordinate training schedules and competitions for athletes, including regular trips to Yeovil Athletics Track and Bath Swords.
* Assist in running the school's pentathlon and triathlon programs, working directly with students and clients.
* Help deliver our strength and conditioning program and ensure all equipment is well-maintained.
Program & Event Management:
* Support the Head of Pentathlon in the day-to-day management of the department.
* Assist with the planning and execution of internal and external sporting events (e.g., National Triathle), which will include some weekend work.
* Help maintain fencing and shooting equipment to ensure safety and readiness.
Community & Administrative Duties:
* Act as a key link between the school and the Leweston Pentathlon Academy.
* Assist with the marketing of pentathlon events to attract participants and spectators.
* Support the overall delivery of the school's swimming program.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* A passion for pentathlon and a desire to inspire young athletes.
* Relevant sports coaching certifications.
* A current First Aid Certification.
* Basic IT skills (e.g., for scheduling and communication).
* A strong commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
Details at a Glance
* Working Hours: 40 hours per week, term time only (34 weeks per year). There is an opportunity for some additional work in the holidays to support Pentathlon training camps.
* Salary: £26,259 per annum (inclusive of statutory holiday pay)
