Team Leader
Location: PRESTON/BLACKBURN
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Shifts: 3 Long Day Shifts followed by 4 Days Off (3-week rolling rota)
Salary: £14.68 per hour + £250 Referral Bonus
Role Purpose
To support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of a registered children's home, ensuring high-quality care for children and young people. The Team Leader will oversee a staff team, ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and Children\'s Home Regulations, and act as a role model in delivering best practice in care and support.
Key Responsibilities
* For Young People
o Safeguard and promote welfare, dignity, and equality.
o Lead on placement and positive behaviour support planning.
o Support with communication tools (e.g., SmartBox, PECs, Now & Next boards).
o Ensure enriching social opportunities and involvement in the local community.
o Liaise with families and external agencies professionally.
o Maintain therapeutic programmes, health & safety, and clean, homely environments.
* For Staff and Leadership
o Supervise, coach, and mentor support staff.
o Conduct regular supervision and appraisals.
o Ensure compliance with training and development plans.
o Uphold professional standards and address performance concerns.
o Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
* Quality & Compliance
o Maintain and present high-quality evidence of compliance with Ofsted\'s 9 Quality Standards.
o Create and execute a Quality Improvement Plan.
o Lead by example in delivering person-centred care and active support.
* Operational Duties
o Responsible for rota creation aligned with staffing budgets.
o Monitor and complete daily tasks (e.g., "golden hour" checklist).
o Use and promote visual/communication aids effectively.
o Coordinate with other departments (education, therapy, maintenance, etc.).
