Position: Senior SHEQ Advisor
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £53,000 - £57,000 Plus Car/Allowance and Excellent Package
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for Scottish Water.
They are recruiting for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor for the Scottish Water framework that will deliver a range of construction schemes to maintain and improve water supply and wastewater treatment works across Scotland.
You will report directly to the SHEQ Manager and your role will cover advising the SHEQ team at on a Senior level. The responsibilities will include:
Understanding their approach to managing SHEQ risk and delivering best in class performance at a Senior Level.
Maintaining a dynamic and driven approach to supporting SHEQ across the company.
Facilitating the development and implementation of policies, procedures, management systems and risk controls, which will help reduce risk and support a positive SHEQ culture.
Organising audits and supporting the delivery and execution of SHEQ assurance audits.
Conducting accident/incident investigations and/or supporting investigations conducted by the Head of SHEQ.
Integrating within the wider project teams to understand day to day challenges.
Liaising with the Central SHEQ team.
Working with their clients to deliver collaborative approaches to SHEQ.
Exposure to the project management lifecycle of project delivery.
Highlighting opportunity for sustainable solutions.
Maintenance of our externally certified management systems.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate large volumes of data whilst maintaining data integrity.
Ability to identify trends in data and clearly articulate the issue or findings.
Proven experience of working as part of a SHEQ team.
Ability to interpret legislation and Approved codes of Practise.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work both as a team member and under own initiative.
Good communicator who's comfortable engaging at all levels within the organisation as you will be advising the team at a senior level.
Confidence to make decisions whilst recognising when appropriate to escalate issues or concerns.
Good Microsoft Office skills especially Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
