Job Description

3. Provide expert legal advice on privacy and data protection regulations, ensuring compliance across all operations.
4. Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements and other relevant contracts.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to implement privacy policies and procedures effectively.
6. Monitor changes in privacy laws and regulations, advising the business on necessary adjustments.
7. Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk evaluations for new projects or initiatives.
8. Lead training sessions to educate staff on data protection best practices.
9. Respond to data subject access requests and liaise with regulatory authorities when required.
10. Support cross-functional teams in managing data breaches and other privacy-related incidents.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Privacy Counsel should have:

11. A recognised legal qualification and a solid understanding of privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR.
12. Experience working in the FMCG industry or similar fast-paced sectors.
13. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
14. The ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
15. Proven experience in handling data breaches and privacy impact assessments.
16. A proactive approach to staying updated on evolving privacy regulations.
