Barnardo's, 'Heathy, Respectful Relationships Group Work Programme' work with children, young people and families from a sanctuary seeking background. The aims of the service are to provide consultation with parents as well as group work programmes with children and young people throughout the region with the overall goal to contribute to a reduction in violence against women and girls. We are looking for a Project Worker 2 to join our team.Project Workers will engage young children using age-appropriate methods that address attitudes and practices that contribute to gender inequality. This will increase their knowledge, understanding and confidence to build safe and healthy relationships.Project Workers will adopt a human rights approach as the basis for young people to learn about, and act against, gender-based violence. Young people will explore issues including their rights, consent, culture, power and control and laws around keeping people safe.
Responsibilities
* Engage with key personnel to make them aware of the service and the referral process
* Liaise with parents to arrange an initial home visit or organise group meetings with the parents/carers of children and young people referred to the programme
* Carry out direct group work with participants using a co-design process, including organising and facilitating activities and residential experiences
* Invite participants to complete a baseline assessment pre delivery. Monitor progress on a weekly basis
* Invite participants to complete baseline assessment again and evaluation form post intervention

Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience of design and delivery of group work programmes with children and young people.
* Demonstrable experience of ability to engage with young people who may face barriers to access services and programmes.
* Demonstrable experience of safeguarding.
* Must hold a current driving licence with access to a vehicle or demonstrate the ability to source another means of transport to fulfil the role.

* Previous experience of working with young people/families from a Sanctuary Seeking background.
* Previous experience of co-design approaches with children and young people .
* Experience of delivering relationship education programmes.
