We are seeking an Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) Technician to join our team at Portsmouth Water. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding, testing, inspecting, and repairing EICA plant and equipment across water treatment works, reservoirs, and booster stations in Hampshire and West Sussex.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with planned maintenance schedules.
2. Maintain, diagnose, repair, modify, configure, and commission instrumentation, logic controllers, SCADA systems, telemetry equipment, control circuitry, low voltage switchgear, and motor drives.
3. Visit water treatment works, pumping stations, and reservoirs to monitor asset performance and collect data.
4. Respond to breakdowns, assess problems, and carry out repairs.
5. Maintain and calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications and ensure audit readiness.
6. Supervise team members and support their development.
7. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
8. Complete documentation accurately to meet change control standards.
9. Demonstrate adaptability, attention to detail, and accountability.
10. Collaborate with others, share knowledge, and develop new skills.
11. Maintain systems-based skills and stay open to learning new technologies.
12. Provide excellent service to customers and colleagues.
13. Be computer and smartphone literate.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A recognised apprenticeship in a relevant field.
* HNC/HND in electrical and/or electronic engineering.
* BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Experience in a process and industrial environment.
* Experience diagnosing and repairing complex system faults.
* Experience with PLC, SCADA, and telemetry software.
* Knowledge of OT communications protocols.
* Understanding of hydraulic principles.
* Proficiency with electrical drawings.
* Knowledge of water treatment processes or water industry experience.
* Full UK driving license (must pass driver assessment).
