Central Film School offers students a practical education in fictional narrative and documentary filmmaking. We aim to give independent voices the skills and knowledge needed to tell their stories through film. The role:You’ll work across all areas of the business to help everyone do their best work and enjoy their time at Central Film School. Working with the Head of Operations (HoO) this broad role supports the running of the organisation.Hours:8:30am - 5:00pmRemuneration:£25,000ReceptionProvide exceptional front of house reception service, greet students, visitors and contact the relevant staff member.Answer all calls quickly and efficiently and transfer or pass on messages when appropriate.Manage the general school inbox, answering any queries in a timely fashion and passing on where appropriate.Arrange new & replacement swipe cards for new staff and students.Monitor and restock office and kitchen supplies.Student Experience and Academic SupportWork with the Student Services Coordinator to engage with students to understand their experience, gather feedback, and identify ways to improve the student experience at Central Film School.Assist with student events such as Open Days and tours.Provide academic administration support.Health & Safety & ResourcesOpening of the building.Supporting the Resources team with equipment processes.Manage fire wardens and termly fire drills (HoO assisted).Liaise with the cleaning team to ensure maintenance of high standards of cleanliness.Monitor activities that happen outside the building, such as proper waste disposal and recycling.Research new services and appliances to facilitate school operations.Skills and ExperienceAbout you:You’re highly organised and efficient.Excellent email and time management skills.Strong attention to detail, can-do attitude, and ownership mindset.Excellent written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (including prioritisation skills, flexibility toward change, sense of urgency, and dealing with ambiguity).Outstanding customer orientation and ability to professionally handle confidential and/or sensitive information.Required:Minimum 1 year of experience providing a first-class reception service or working in a similar, front of house, customer facing environment.Excellent range of interpersonal skills for dealing with the students, staff, and other stakeholders.Exceptional administration skillsFirst Aid at Work (or be willing to undertake and successfully complete training). Fire Warden (or be willing to undertake and successfully complete training). Effective and fluent communication skills, both written and verbal. Service orientated with aptitude for providing an excellent customer service experience and an ability to build rapport with our students, staff, and visitors.Enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to complete the process if offered the role).Must have right to work in the UK.Desired:Possess a friendly and approachable manner and an ability to maintain this when dealing with difficult or challenging situations.Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deal with multiple issues on a regular basis.
