Maintenance Engineer
Location: ChesterfieldSalary: £34,000 + Overtime (1.5x)Hours: 38 per week - DaysBenefits: 3% Pension, Life Assurance, Overtime Available, Flexible Day Off in Lieu
The Company
An established and forward-thinking manufacturing business with over 40 years of industry expertise is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its on-site engineering team. The company operates within a specialist plastics manufacturing environment and continues to invest heavily in its people, plant, and processes to ensure high-quality output and operational excellence.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be part of a small on-site team of two engineers responsible for maintaining production machinery and ensuring minimal downtime across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing electrical maintenance across all production machinery
* Carrying out both reactive breakdown repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
* Maintaining equipment in optimum operating condition
* Attending breakdowns during working hours and participating in an on-call rota
* Fault finding on:
o Sensors, relays, and motors
o PLC systems
o Hydraulics and pneumatics
o Moulding machinery
What We're Looking For
* Recognised electrical qualifications
* Proven experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
* A proactive and reliable approach to maintenance
Experience within plastics or rotational moulding environments would be advantageous but not essential.
