Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Frome from September 2025.
This is a full-time role, ideal for someone looking to gain valuable experience in a secondary school setting, particularly with students who may require additional learning or emotional support.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to provide targeted support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school has a diverse student population, including pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
* Assisting with differentiated learning activities and classroom tasks
* Supporting students with SEN and additional learning needs
* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
* Collaborating with teaching staff and SENCO to deliver inclusive learning
* Experience working with young people or in an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
* A calm, patient, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for supporting pupil development
* Willingness to undertake safeguarding and SEN training
