Specialist Science Tutor
Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils, SEND teams and Schools throughout the UK. We have a high demand for one-to-one or small group Science Tutors who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and are commutable to the Oldham area.
Contract/Position Details
* Location: Oldham
* Position: Science Tutor
* Type of work: Contract
* Start date: ASAP
* Setting: either within the student\'s home or in the community (learning hub/library)
* Duration: Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement
* Contract type: Temporary
* Full-time/part-time availability
* Rate of pay: up to GBP30 per hour
Your role with us
* Deliver one-to-one or tuition supporting students with SEND, focusing on building confidence and adapting learning methods; targeting Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 education.
* Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families.
* Complete daily attendance and weekly reports.
Experience, Training and Qualifications
* Children related/Education qualification
* Possess UK classroom teaching experience
* Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
* Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, ADHD, GLD and challenging behaviours
To be eligible for this role
* Hold the right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Have a background in Tutoring Key stage 3 or Key Stage 4 level science
* Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
