We are looking for a dedicated Commis Chef to join this Kitchen Brigade. The ideal candidate will be career-minded and hardworking with a passion for food. Previous experience of working as a Commis Chef or an experienced kitchen assistant wishing to move to a Commis role, are welcome. Located in the Rye area of East Sussex, our client, is a prestigious boutique style property, offering gastro pub / brasserie style cuisine and using locally sourced seasonal produce where possible and award winning. The successful candidate can be local / or there is live in available with this role, which is deductible from salary. As Commis Chef, you will be working and continuing to learn within this kitchen, catering for the restaurant and events at this property, working as part of a team. Candidates are sought either with experience of working within a kitchen or a candidate looking to work as a Chef whereby further training will be given. As Commis Chef you will be reporting to the Head Chef and team. As Commis Chef candidates require: * Some Chef experience ideally from within a hotel or similar, or you may be a recently qualified Chef. * Good organisation, kitchen management, stock control and food hygiene control are essential. * Experience of hot and cold food to order. * Days of work will include week-ends on a rota – so some week-ends on and some week-ends off. Salary for this role of COMMIS CHEF is given as competitive – salary shown is the national minimum wage for 21 years old and over. Some tronc is paid on top of salary.
