Following the resignation of the Headteacher and promotion of our Deputy Headteacher to the Interim Head role, the Governing Body is seeking to appoint an Interim Deputy Headteacher for the academic year 2026-27.
We are seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Interim Deputy Head Teacher to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who is passionate about early education and committed to ensuring every child flourishes academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working closely with the Interim Head Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school while leading outstanding teaching and learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
The post includes a 0.8 teaching commitment. This means you will teach 3.5 days/week. 0.5 day/week - PPA time. 1 day/week – Leadership Time. You will need to be confident in teaching in any year group
The Role
As Interim Deputy Head Teacher, you will:
•Support the Interim Head Teacher in the day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
•Champion high-quality teaching and learning that enables every child to achieve their full potential.
•Lead curriculum development and drive continuous school improvement.
•Inspire, coach and develop staff through collaborative leadership.
•Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued and eager to learn.
•Build strong relationships with parents/carers, governors and the wider community.
•Help to safeguard children as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

•Is an experienced and outstanding classroom practitioner.
•Has successful leadership experience within a primary or infant setting.
•Has a secure understanding of EYFS and Key Stage 1 pedagogy.
•Demonstrates a commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and the wellbeing of every child.
•Is an excellent communicator with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
•Brings energy, creativity and a positive outlook to school leadership.
