Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Woodland View Hospital, Irvine. This is a full-time role permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
1. Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance tasks (e.g. AHUs, calorifiers, heat stations, medical gases, pressure systems, legionella control).
2. Diagnose and repair faults across a wide range of building services and equipment.
3. Participate in minor installation projects and service improvements.
4. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and Equans procedures (including SHTMs, L8, Pressure Systems Regulations ).
5. Complete risk assessments, method statements, and permits-to-work.
6. Participate in an on-call rota (currently 1 in 4) to ensure 24/7 emergency cover at Woodland View Hospital.
7. Travel to other NHS sites on occasion, based on operational needs.
8. Liaise professionally with NHS clients and represent Equans to a high standard.
9. Maintain workshop and storage areas in a clean and safe condition.

Who are you?
21. Recognised mechanical/plumbing apprenticeship (essential).
22. Sound knowledge of mechanical building services and fault diagnosis.
23. Comfortable working within a hospital or healthcare environment (desirable).
24. Ability to interpret technical manuals and complete detailed documentation.
25. Good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
26. Strong team ethic and flexible approach to support business needs.
27. Willingness to undertake further training and obtain AP (Authorised Person) status (financial uplift provided for AP duties).
28. Due to the nature of the contract you must be able to obtain and maintain a PVG Disclosure Scotland.`
