We are looking for an enthusiastic People Partner with a passion for delivery to join our People, Safety and Culture Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Senior People Partner, you will play a key role in driving both the strategic and day-to-day people agenda across the depot. You’ll provide expert HR guidance, supporting leaders to deliver on key People priorities while ensuring alignment with the wider People strategy.

Role details:
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday
Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Crewe, CW1 6FB
What you’ll do:
11. Partnering with the depot General Managers, develop, support and deliver the tactical, transactional and strategic HR agenda across the depot
12. Provide guidance, advice and coaching on all aspects of Company policy, best practice, employee relations and employment law to site leadership team, empowering them to make effective People decisions in line with our Company values
13. Own and drive recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, wellbeing, training and organisation development initiatives based on the requirements of the depot. It is imperative that the successful candidate looks to collaborate with peers and the Centres of Excellence to create a consistent employee experience where possible
14. Build commitment for People strategies, identifying and working through specific depot concerns to embed initiatives
15. Build and maintain a collaborative working relationship with depot Trade Union representatives
16. Maintain and promote good industrial relations, taking a key role in annual pay negotiations
17. Maintain and promote good employee relations and ensure employee issues are dealt with at an early stage
18. Facilitate active succession and development planning for all central functions
19. Overseeing, tracking and continually seeking to improve people metrics on site
20. Promoting best practice in all disciplinary cases, advising on employment law and ensuring processes and policies are followed and that investigations are comprehensive
Who you are:
21. CIPD qualification is desirable
22. Significant experience in a HR Manager/ People Partner role operating across the full generalist remit, ideally within a logistics, retail or manufacturing environment
23. Credibility and impact to act as a true business partner to the depot management team
24. Excellent leadership skills to bring others on the journey
25. Ability to apply technical knowledge combined with pragmatism to influence others
26. Recognised ability to build strong relationships across all levels
27. Strong ability to develop HR strategies and deliver change including redundancy, TUPE and contractual variations
28. Experience of dealing with complex ER issues
29. Strong written and verbal communication skills, planning and organisational skills, attention to detail and data analysis
30. Solid working knowledge of the principles and practices of employment law with in-depth practical knowledge and application
31. Experience of leading a team of HR professionals
32. Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion at all times
33. Flexibility to travel when required
