Job Purpose: To deliver individual or multiple projects related to new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes. To manage direct and subcontract labour and produce the required reports for all works.
What you'll do
* To have a good electrical knowledge and experience to deliver electrically biased projects.
* To ensure good site records and documentation is kept up to date.
* Prepare specifications briefs in consultation with staff.
* To compete works as per the SOR and to work within the parameters of the work books.
* Prepare extra work SORs and to work closely with the commercial teams to get these issued.
* Prepare labour plans and update labour trackers with real life information.
* Appoint and manage specialist contractors for the SORs.
* Attend regular approval meetings with Client interface.
* Work with the SPM & site supervisors to ensure the works are on target and to update programs and weekly project reports for the client & sub contractors.
* Manage work through to effective completion and submit for invoicing.
* Ensure all works are managed in accordance with EMCOR standard operating procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
* To ensure a weekly housekeeping check is completed of the building and grounds where it is your responsibility, ensuring all areas are in a safe condition and hazard free.
* Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and work to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), if applicable.
* Respond to requests made via the administration function and other EMCOR functions.
* Ensure all RAMS are suitable and sufficient whether work is subcontracted or delivered by an in house team and are in place and adhered to.
* Follow the contract and EMCOR procurement policies.
* Manage projects from input to design specification, tender, installation to commissioning, practical completion, handover and invoicing.
* Coordinate the procurement and resource planning within the requirements of the contract needs.
* Ensure that all EMCOR quality control systems and procedures are implemented and maintained.
* Ensure appropriate record keeping is maintained and available for EMCOR and Client audits.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers.
* Manage all Health and Safety matters (CDM) in accordance with EMCOR procedures and current relevant legislation.
* Take responsibility for the successful project completion and formal handover in accordance with defined requirements outlined by the client or nominated client representatives.
* To ensure compliance with all EMCOR policies and procedures are maintained.
* Produce working programs and to amend and issue with weekly reports including % completed against each task.
Qualifications and experience
* Hold an electrical qualification to App. Electrician as a minimum.
* Proven and extensive experience within a similar role.
* Operational and technical experience with demonstrated potential.
* Technical expertise, qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft skill or engineering discipline would be an important prerequisite of the role.
* Proven experience in Project Management.
* Ability to plan and organise work effectively to meet changing environments and needs.
* Proven track record of delivering multi-task building, electrical and mechanical services related projects.
* Ability to liaise with and supervise contractors.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices.
* Demonstrable skills in dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex issues.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Self-motivated and able to motivate others, reliable and responsible.
* IT skills with reference to the Microsoft suite; ability to use Microsoft Project to a basic standard as a minimum.
* Health and Safety (CDM) experience that supports effective running of projects.
* Desirable: SMSTS or IOSH certification.
