Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Band 8a) within Critical Care to join the Therapies Directorate at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post holder will be required to facilitate clinical development and extend the scope of current practice with the aim of delivering the highest quality and most up‑to‑date evidence‑based care.
Key Responsibilities
The clinical specialist physiotherapist role will be responsible for the generation of new research opportunities and implementation of the most up‑to‑date evidence‑based practice. This includes representing the organisation at a national networking level to influence service development and market our service to key stakeholders.
Enhance the ongoing training and education framework of a large therapy team to ensure an optimum learning environment for both static and rotational staff and students.
Supervised by Principal Therapists with peer supervision, continuous development is supported through appraisal, internal training and external learning.
Unit and Team Context
Our Critical Care Unit is a regional trauma centre with 36 beds, covering trauma, surgical, medical, neurosurgical and spinal cord injury services. The unit is supported by a physiotherapy, occupational therapy and therapy technician team, working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
There may be a requirement for some out‑of‑hours working.
