Job Description
We are recruiting a strong people manager to lead all cleaning and environmental service delivery, at a large high-footfall retail destination, in the East Midlands.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for managing a team of 30+ operatives within a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
The core requirement is strong, credible team leadership. A cleaning background is less important than your ability to manage people, maintain standards and deliver operational consistency.
The Role
* Lead, motivate and develop a team of 30+ staff.
* Oversee rotas, absence management and performance processes.
* Maintain high standards of presentation and safety across a busy public environment.
* Manage audits, compliance and health & safety procedures.
* Act as a visible onsite leader, managing from the floor.
* Work closely with stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
What We’re Looking For
* Have experience managing large teams (30+ direct or indirect reports).
* Be confident handling performance management and difficult conversations.
* Be highly organised and comfortable working within structured processes.
* Thrive in time-sensitive, operationally demanding environments.
* Take pride in delivering high standards consistently.
Technical knowledge of cleaning compliance, COSHH or facilities legislation can be developed. What cannot be taught is strong, resilient leadership.
