We are looking for an Electrical Engineering student to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based in Leeds for a Summer Placement. You will be working on our Water/Sewage Treatment Plant project which is a part of Yorkshire Water.
Our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks division provides design, build and maintenance solutions to protect the UK's essential services and assets. We operate across water, nuclear and other decarbonised energy, environmental and waterways sectors, delivering sustainable and safe solutions for clients and customers while protecting and restoring natural habitats.
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Starting Salary: £26,208 per annum
Pathway: 8 Weeks – 40 hours per week
Starting date: July 2026

What will you be responsible for?
As a Summer Placement Electrical Engineer, you'll be working within the Water team assisting in the design, development and implementation of electrical systems. This placement offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced professionals, and a strong foundation in the field.
Day-to-day duties
* Assisting in the design and development of electrical systems for projects.
* Supporting the preparation of detailed drawings, specifications and reports.
* Conducting site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards and quality requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards and company policies.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking students undertaking a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field who can join on an 8-week placement across July–August. You must be returning to university upon completion of your placement.
The role is suitable for those who have:
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
* Ideally hold a full driving licence.
