Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer
42 hours per week from Monday to Friday & 6 hours every 3rd Saturday morning

£49,686 (plus 15% shift allowance) + overtime + benefits
Overtime is paid at 1.5x for Monday–Saturday, and 2x for Sundays and bank holidays.

As an apprentice trained or experienced in either mechanical or electrical maintenance engineering, you’ll work as part of a skilled Engineering team. Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment. You’ll be involved in a variety of engineering tasks, ensuring a proactive approach to preventing equipment failure. Working on various types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site.
Working 42 hours per week from Monday to Friday, and 6 hours every 3rd Saturday morning, you’ll be on a 3‑shift rotation covering days and nights (predominately 6 am–2 pm, 2 pm–10 pm & 10 pm–7 am), but with an early finish on a Friday as we know the importance of work‑life balance.
Required skills
* Apprentice‑trained Engineer to NVQ Level 3 standard in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ideally with the 18th Edition qualification
* Good working knowledge of mechanical & electrical engineering within a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment
* Welding experience is key for this role
* A flexible approach to varying work activities including production requirements
* Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
* A clear passion for engineering with a desire to learn and grow in the role
