Group Finance Manager | Hypergrowth Cleantech Scale-up | 12 Month FTC | Slough
The Business
Harmonic is excited to be working with an extremely high-growth Cleantech scale-up in their search for a Group Finance Manager to join on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
The business has developed a cutting-edge device for reducing fuel consumption in the transportation industry. They are the only business to have proven their technology in the space and have revenue growth reflecting their market dominance. Revenue has increased from £2m in 2019 to over £60m now, with limited external investment.
The company culture is high performing yet friendly. Everyone works towards a common goal, with no large egos. They operate a hybrid working model.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller and working closely with the VP Finance, CFO, and other departments, the Group Finance Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, including treasury, tax, and managing the Accounts Assistant. They will lead both Dutch and UK audits, including preparing statutory financial statements. The role involves handling routine calendar-driven tasks typical for a qualified accountant in a small, well-rounded finance team.
Responsibilities:
* Lead month-end accounting processes, including balance sheet prep, journal entries, and reconciliation of key accounts.
* Oversee cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting and investment tracking.
* Lead finance for the company’s foreign entity, working with local accountants to review reports, manage funding, and ensure compliance.
* Support tax filings, including VAT, R&D tax credits, and corporate tax.
* Manage accounts payable, including payment runs, bank reconciliations, and supplier data oversight.
* Assist with governance tasks such as company secretarial filings, pricing updates, and managing corporate cards.
* Manage statutory audits for UK and Dutch entities, including financial statement preparation and auditor coordination.
* Support ad hoc finance projects and senior leadership as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
* Experience with NetSuite (highly desired)
* Intermediate Excel skills for reporting and analysis
* Strong communication and influencing skills
* Ability to hold team members accountable and drive change
* Team player with collaborative approach
* Pro-active, entrepreneurial attitude with attention to detail
* Inquisitive, eager to learn and develop
