Theatre Support Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Theatre Support Worker to join the team working in theatres.
The post holder will be responsible for:
* Assisting the surgical team to provide a quality service.
* Assisting the surgical team to deliver safe patient care.
* Supporting the surgical team in the preparation of sterile and non‑sterile equipment.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy environment throughout theatres.
* Maintaining good stock levels.
* Working part of the weekend and on call periods.

Main duties of the job
* Works as part of the team to maintain good working relationships.
* Communicates well both verbally and in writing.
* Is able to work under supervision.
* Provides and receives routine information.
* Provides information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated.
* Reports any concerns regarding patient care.
* Is supervised by a trained nurse and records care.
* Ensures infection control standards are maintained by all team members.
* Maintains theatres clean and tidy at all times.
* Participates in weekend and night rotation after competence training.
You must also demonstrate a good verbal and written command of English, along with excellent communication/ interpersonal skills and a reasonable level of numeracy equivalent to GCSE.
There will be an expectation that you complete a Care Certificate qualification in Perioperative care.

Person Specification
Education
* Level 1 Maths and English via BSc or GCSE A‑C (4‑9) or Level 2 Functional Skills Maths and English.
* Care Certificate (NHS).
* L3 Health and Social Care or A Level Certificate.
Experience
* Previous healthcare experience in a hospital setting.
Personal attributes
* Pleasant personality, willingness to learn, and reliability.
