The role offers rotation between The Coleman Unit (TCU) and Day Surgery Unit (DSU) and may include long days, night shifts, and weekends as required.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with RNOH NHS Trust policies and procedures.
* Provide safe clinical nursing care during nursing procedures and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate records are kept.
* Communicate with patients and carers to ensure access to appropriate information.
* Promote positive relationships among all staff involved in patient care.
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
* Ensure safe custody and administration of medicines and report discrepancies.
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for infection control and align with the clinical governance framework to drive service improvements and patient safety.
* Support opportunities to learn and contribute to new developments within the service through research.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Registered nurse with a willingness to learn and develop orthopaedic knowledge and clinical skills.
* Ideal candidates include those either newly qualified or experienced in caring for orthopaedic patients.
* Excellent communication skills, motivation, and the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced ward environment.
* Willingness to rotate between The Coleman Unit (TCU) and Day Surgery Unit (DSU).
* Flexible to work long days/nights and weekends as required.
