Role Responsibilities
* Lead and direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team to :
* Identify the feasibility of the approach
* Develop an outline requirement specification
* Identify the TRL levels and associated development plans to deliver a viable solution
* Prepare a plan for the delivery of the appraise and select phase of the project. Deliver to the agreed time cost and quality
* Lead the multidiscipline teams responsible for estimating scheduling forecasting and the production of the agreed design deliverables
* Manage the DSA teams in production of deliverables
* Develop the safety case(s) including attendance at HAZOPs support to safety assessment review of ES and production of substantiation documentation
* Identify additional resource demand where required to ensure all deliverables can be originated and checked in accordance with the project schedule
* Interface with other Project Discipline leads within the project(s)
* Interface and engage with Site clients and stakeholders
Essential Experience
* Background in engineering demonstrating a record of successful delivery including recent leadership roles guiding technical personnel
* Significant experience in an engineering design environment with strong technical knowledge
* Recent experience working within a regulated and quality-assured system (preferably nuclear) where professional engineering judgment is key
* Knowledge and understanding of governing laws regulations and standards for the nuclear industry (equivalent experience in other industries will be considered) :
o Health & Safety at Work Act
o The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
o Safety of Machinery CDM LOLER Pressure Systems DSEAR Ionising Radiation
* Identification of Technological Readiness Levels and development of technology development plans
Qualifications
* Higher Education Qualification in Engineering (or Equivalent) subject
* Appropriate (Engineering or Scientific) Institution Membership.
Additional Information
* Ability to obtain SC Clearance
* Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
