About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident MSK / Sports Therapist to join our therapy team, supporting local rugby teams throughout the summer season while also delivering high-quality clinical care within our private practice.
This role is ideal for a therapist who thrives in fast-paced sporting environments and is looking to combine pitch-side experience with private clinic progression.
The successful candidate will work on a self-employed basis and will have the opportunity to join our shared therapist clinic model with flexible working hours to suit their availability.
Key Responsibilities – Rugby Support
Provide pitch-side first aid and immediate injury management on weekend match days
Deliver pre-match preparation and post-match recovery treatment
Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic MSK injuries
Offer sports taping and appropriate warm-up/recovery stretches and exercises to players
Communicate clearly with coaching staff regarding injury status and return-to-play timelines
Develop and implement rehabilitation programmes
Maintain accurate injury records and clinical documentation
Support player education around injury prevention and performance optimisation
Experience in a fast-paced rugby environment is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities – Clinic-Based Practice
Conduct thorough MSK assessments and formulate evidence-based treatment plans
Deliver hands-on therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation
Manage client caseload independently
Contribute to retention through clear communication and structured care pathways
Collaborate with the wider therapy, fitness and wellbeing teams
Maintain professional standards in line with governing body requirements
Shared Therapist Model (Clinic Opportunity)
In addition to rugby commitments, the successful candidate may join our clinic under our shared therapist model, which offers:

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in private MSK practice
Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy
Experience working with sports teams (rugby preferred)
Confident managing acute injuries independently
Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
Professional registration and appropriate insurance
Desirable:
Experience in rugby environment
Return-to-play protocol knowledge
Strength & conditioning understanding
First Aid in Sport / Trauma certification
Sports Taping certification
Sports Nutrition and/or Personal Training experience
