Role details
* Salary: £33,890 per annum + competitive bonus and overtime opportunities.
* Location: Widnes
* Contract type: Permanent
* Hours/shift pattern: 42.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7
Role purpose
You will play a key role in a team of Technicians and Preparation Assistants to ensure all vehicles are prepared to the Motorpoint Standard and that customers receive an outstanding level of service at every step. The role includes:
* Carry out pre-delivery inspections of vehicles to Motorpoint standards prior to customer collection.
* Perform MOT tests where required.
* Carry out repair work on vehicles as needed, ensuring all work meets Motorpoint’s Quality Standard.
* Liaise with Customer Experience and Sales teams to ensure vehicles flow smoothly through the process.
* Ensure DVSA standards and health and safety regulations are met.
What we’re looking for
* DVSA accreditation as an MOT Tester
* Full UK driving licence
* Good knowledge of current MOT testing regulations and procedures
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with ability to identify and rectify defects efficiently
* Attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork
* Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Basic computer literacy for completing digital documentation
* Good time management to ensure timely completion of tests and inspections
* Adaptability to handle a diverse range of vehicles and testing scenarios
* Commitment to ethical standards and integrity of the testing process
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with customers
For the right candidate we can support with the training and accreditation required, subject to meeting all other essential qualifications and skills. This would require a two-year commitment with Motorpoint following completion of training.
