The Dietitian meets with students that have eating or nutritional problems to help them develop better diets, providing ongoing nutritional counseling as needed.

Position Title: Dietitian - part time
Position Type: Staff Employee Group Staff Time Status Part-Time Time Category Limited Hour (< 1000 hours) Annual Hours 972 # of Months 12 Hours Per Week 8-24 hours per week
Work Dates: August 18 – May 22 11-16 hours per week as Nutritionist in Engle Center (16 hours per week won’t be needed every week) July 1 – June 30 8 hours per week as Dietician
Location: Campus Main Campus (Grantham)
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or a related field and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist certification (RDN).
* Minimum of one year of experience working with eating and nutritional problems including a particular focus on eating disorders.
Skills and Characteristics
* Competence in the assessment of the nutritional adequacy of diets
* Strong skills in nutritional counseling and developmental psychology
* Understands the nature of eating disorders and how to work with such patients
* Ability to collaborate with other professionalsAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Primary Duties
* Provide nutritional counseling to students, focusing on adequacy of diets and eating disorders.
* Interact and consult with Counseling and Health Services professional staff, the Department of Athletics, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Dining Services regarding the treatment of students.
* Act as a resource/liaison for students with allergies/special diet needs and dining services. Create special diets for students with allergies.
* Support dining operations with menu ideas and allergy updates.
* Participate in health education programming.
* Provide consistent and reliable attendance.
Secondary Duties
* Perform other duties as assigned.
