Electroplater - Aviation/Aerospace - Nickel, Chrome, Cadmium Plating Location: Hayes, West London Full-Time | Permanent | £30,000 - £40,000 benefits (Flexi hours) We are seeking an experienced Electroplater to join our aerospace plating team based in Hayes, West London. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled plating technician with hands-on experience in precision metal finishing to work on high-integrity components used in safety-critical environments. About the Role As an Electroplater, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of specialised metal finishing processes to support the overhaul and repair of aerospace components. You will work within a dedicated plating shop, applying your technical knowledge and attention to detail to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities - Plating & Finishing Activities - Perform cadmium plating, nickel plating, chrome plating, and related electroplating processes - Carry out heat treatment operations in accordance with technical specifications - Prepare components through cleaning, masking, stripping, and surface conditioning - Operate plating baths, rectifiers, ovens, and associated equipment safely and effectively - Monitor bath chemistry, temperatures, and parameters to maintain process stability Quality & Compliance - Ensure all work meets aerospace standards and engineering specifications - Conduct inspections, thickness testing, and visual quality checks - Complete production documentation and record process data accurately - Adhere to stringent health, safety, and environmental regulations General Duties - Maintain clean and organised work areas within the plating shop - Support continuous improvement initiatives - Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality teams to resolve technical issues Skills & Experience Required - Proven experience working in a plating shop / electroplating environment - Strong knowledge of electroplating processes, particularly cadmium, nickel, and chrome - Experience with heat treatment operations (beneficial) - Understanding of chemical handling, PPE, and safety procedures - Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and technical specifications - High attention to detail and commitment to quality - Experience within aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing is advantageous What We Offer - Competitive salary reflecting experience - Shift allowance (where applicable) - Ongoing technical training and development - Opportunity to work with high-precision aerospace components - Supportive and safety-focused working environment
