How You'll Make a Difference
As an Emergency Support Officer, you will enable residents of South Gloucestershire to remain living independently in their own homes. By coordinating an out of hours rapid response service, you will ensure the efficient provision of emergency and urgent personal care welfare visits.
What You Will Be Doing
* Review, assess and implement emergency personal care packages for new and existing service users, promoting independence and delivering a high standard of personalised care.
* Respond to complex situations, coordinating an immediate response to telecare and carer’s emergencies using your specialist knowledge and experience.
* Determine the most appropriate response when needs are unmet after implementing short‑term care packages.
* Ensure all responders in your team hold a Care Certificate where necessary, and remain up to date with supervisions, team meetings and training.
What We Need From You
* Hold a professional qualification such as a degree, NVQ6, CQCSW, DipSW or equivalent in a related field such as health and social care.
* Have relevant experience in this sector, alongside knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
* Knowledge of the processes and procedures of an emergency response team is beneficial but not essential.
What You Need To Know
* This is a part‑time role, working 18.5 hours per week; salary is pro‑rata.
* The Home to Decide Service offers a response service 7 days a week between 7:00 am and 10:15 pm. Support Officers work on a rota basis, with out‑of‑hours including evenings and a shift every other weekend.
* You will largely work out of the Yate office and in and around the local community.
* Travel throughout the authority and surrounding area is required; you must have a full, valid driving licence and regular access to a vehicle or an alternative means of travel.
* Business insurance will need to be added to your existing policy.
* You can claim back mileage expenses.
* An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory for this role.
