We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AI Business Management and Governance Lead.
You will report to the Head of AI Risk Management and be an integral part of a world-class team of Data Scientists, AI Engineers, AI and model risk managers, and DevOps Engineers, and support AI governance and risk management activities across Markets and Securities Services.
The overall purpose of this role is twofold: First, to ensure that any gaps identified in our AI model risk management processes, procedures, and documentation with respect to the obligations described in SS 1/23 are closed over the course of the next 3 years, and that any other AI risk management obligations are satisfied. Second, the role holder will be expected to support business management activities related to the aforementioned (e.g. cost and benefit calculations, related administration, and reporting, and the generation of materials for various business and risk management meetings).
This role is an ideal starting point for a highly motivated Analyst or Associate with a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and a desire to progress into either a Front Office Data Science or AI Strategy and Risk Management-type of role.

Responsibilities
* Support the Head of AI Risk Management, MSS with AI model risk management / governance activities, including the administration of key meetings and uplift of procedures and controls as required
* Support the SS 1/23 model governance remediation programme of work for Markets and Securities Services
* Generate Management Information (MI), meeting packs, meeting actions/minutes, and the like for various AI-related meetings
* Provide guidance and advice to MSS stakeholders regarding requirements that must be met in order to take new AI solutions through the “pipeline to production” (e.g. from the “proof of concept” stage all the way through full production use)
* Assist in the completion of AI and model risk management tasks and governance documentation as needed for MSS stakeholders (e.g. helping MSS Data Scientists, Quants, and others complete ServiceNow requirements as part of the AI “path to production”, generating model documentation as required by the bank’s Model Risk FIM, etc.)
* Provide written and verbal responses to inquiries from HSBC's Model Risk Management team and AI Risk Stewards as needed
Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience working in a governance, controls and/or risk management capacity involving Artificial Intelligence solutions would be beneficial, with familiarity of regulatory requirements relating to AI and model risk management
* Ability to take ownership of complex tasks and see them through from initiation to completion with outstanding attention to detail
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a keen eye for visual presentation and the effective communication of data
* Highly organised with proven ability to work to tight timelines, juggle multiple projects / deliverables, and reprioritise your workload as necessary
* Can work autonomously and has an inquisitive mindset with the ability to ask questions confidently and listen effectively
