Job Purpose
To provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential, supported living, or community setting. The role involves promoting their safety, wellbeing, emotional development, independence, and personal growth in accordance with safeguarding policies and UK care standards.
Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day care, supervision, and emotional support to children and young people.

Promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
*
Assist children with daily routines including personal care, meals, education, and recreational activities.
*
Support children in developing life skills, confidence, and independence.
*
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and act as a positive role model.
*
Implement and follow individual care plans and risk assessments.
*
Support children who may have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, or challenging behaviours.
*
Work in partnership with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals.
*
Accurately record daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes.
*
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision.
*
Adhere strictly to safeguarding, health & safety, and company policies.
*
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
Safeguarding Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and protection of children at all times.
*
Report any safeguarding concerns immediately in line with safeguarding procedures.
*
Understand and comply with UK safeguarding legislation and guidelines.
Essential Requirements
*
Experience working with children or young people (residential, school, care, or support setting preferred).
*
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
*
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
*
Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
*
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
